I read about this story a few weeks ago, but I had forgotten to make mention of it in my blog (too many other things I’m working on!). It describes the new Ford Fiesta iPad app, which gives an interactive overview to the 2011 Ford Fiesta.
I haven’t seen the app, but it sounds like it hits all the right notes, given the promotional quotations, like:
- “It’s done in a simple way that iPad users are accustomed to. It’s very interactive, yet very educational at the same time,” said [Ford car marketing communications manager Thomais] Zaremba.
- One screen also details all of the available tattoos and graphics, with viewers able to scroll through to see the choices for themselves.
This article doesn’t mention it, but I saw it somewhere else — apparently one can play with the center console controls. This is exactly the type of application that I think is great for product marketing–giving the viewer a product experience that blends aspects of purchasing decisions (configurations) with product interactivity (interactivity with features of the car), and lifestyle experiences about owning the Fiesta.
Now, how do I connect with other companies that want to product things like this? I am ready to go!
